Western Digital My Passport Studio

Western Digital announced a new portable hard drive, the My Passport Studio($150-$200). It features a "e-label smart display" on the front that actually remains on even when the drive is off and unplugged. Users can easily create a label to personalize their drive or remind themselves of its contents. The display also includes available capacity and whether the drive is locked. It is the both FireWire 800 interface and USB 2.0 interface and and 256-bit hardware-based encryption. Available in 320GB($150), 500GB($180) and 640GB($200).

Sbarro Autobau

The “Sbarro Autobau” is a strange, if not utterly illogical, car concept that seems straight out from the Star Trek. A tribute to Swiss racing driver Fredy Lienhard, the Autobao generates power from a Ferrari V12 engine, located at the rear, which is capable of producing 500 HP. Weighting about 3,200 pounds, the futuristic car features a low body with clam shell windows behind the cockpit that opens to swallow the passengers.

Citroen Survolt Concept

Citroen has revealed a new concept car at the Geneva Motor Show, the Citroen Survolt Concept. Based rather clearly on the scary sexy Citroen Revolte, the Survolt is a pink-trimmed, black-and-bold concept supercar that we wish would hit production. It likely won’t, as this one was built solely to show the design prowess of Citroen this year at Geneva. It didn’t feature and hardware specs, promises of development or any other details– the Survolt’s beauty is sadly only skin deep. We admire the work, though, and hope elements from this design take shape in future Citroen sports cars.

Mercedes-Benz - G 350 With BlueTEC Technology

With the 80th International Motor Show in Palexpo-Geneva fast approaching, auto makers have released a slew of information not only on new models but on transformational technologies as well. Though they have been behind their counterparts from Japan historically, European car makers have sped up their adaptation of “green” technologies this year. And joining the likes of Porsche and BMW, Mercedes-Benz just announced a new environmentally sound vehicle at the newest entry to its popular G-Class SUVs.

Fondly known as “G-Wagon”, the ruggedized sports utility vehicle is the preferred vehicle of Middle East Sheiks and Beverly Hills soccer moms. It is also the standard issued transportation for the Australian Defense Force and German Army. Now in its 31st year, the G-Class SUV will undergo a slight update with the new BlueTEC technology from Mercedes.

Adopting to the efficiency of diesel-powered vehicles, engineers at Mercedes developed BlueTEC as a way to further reduce diesel vehicles’ emissions, especially nitrogen oxide (NOx). By introducing its patented AdBlue urea solution to the exhaust gas, BlueTEC is able to alter 80% of the nitrogen oxide into harmless nitrogen and water. Engineers also created a easy refill method for AdBlue - simply add the solution to a separate blue valve while filling up at a pert station. A full tank of AdBlue equates to 12,000 kilometers or 7, 450 miles.

Armed with a V6 diesel engine, G 350 is still able to generate 210-hp yet only emits 50% of the emission when compared to the model from previous year, a significant improvement indeed.

Porsche - 918 Spyder Hybrid Concept Car

As evening arrived halfway across the globe in Geneva, Switzerland, Michael Macht, the President and CEO of Porsche AG presided over a special world debut - the Porsche 918 Spyder Hybrid Concept Car.

A mid-engined 2 seater, the 918 Spyder striked a perfect balance between 2 initiatives. On one side, the concept addressed numerous challenges, from climate changes to limited resources, the world will face in the next century. On the other, it is a representation of engineering ingenuity, passion for design, tempered with raw power & speed. Under its hood is a 500-hp V8 engine working in tandem with 3 electric motors totaling 160 kW of output. With a fuel consumption of 94 miles per gallon (mpg) and a CO2 emission of 70 grams per kilometer, the end product is an exotic car with CO2 footprint of a compact plug-in hybrid.

The Porsche 918 Spyder Hybrid Concept Car will be on display starting tomorrow at Geneva Motor Show’s Hall 6.

Concept : Honda 3R-C Concept

Honda 3R-C is a fully single-seat three-wheeler powered by a lithium ion battery, created by Honda's Milan studio. It will debut at Geneva International Motor Show 2010.


The 3R-C has a clear canopy that covers the driver's seat while it is parked and not in use. When 3R-C vehicle is in motion, the canopy becomes an enveloping wind-shield that provides the pilot, who sits low in the vehicle, with significant protection from the bodywork and doors.
The high sides of the safety shell seat give greater safety to the occupant, reducing the threat from side impacts and improving weather protection. In front of the driver is a lockable boot area, which gives significant secure storage for luggage or other items. The 3R-C's designers created a flexible cover that surrounds the upper torso to reduce exposure to bad weather and improving comfort.
