Concept : Plug-In

This is the “Plug-In” affordable youth mobility project by Ramesh Gound. According to Gound, there is a big “buy 1 get 1 free” shopping attitude in the market around the Ahmedabad area of India. This simple concept gave Gound the idea to take two motorcycles and attach them in the middle.

Each motorcycle is owned by its respective party, a young person with a big appetite for sports vehicles but a small pocketbook, then they attach. Once two motos attach in the middle, they become that fantastic sports car from heaven.

Two drive-by-wire bikes are owned by separate people. They wanna attach them for a longer drive or some sort of trip that’s not great for motorcycle, or hey, if they just wanna cruuuze… they attach in the center of the two.

The hood is made of D3O, which when the bikes are not attached, stows away in the bike configuration. This whole concept is aimed to take on congested cities such as Mumbai.

Concept : BMW Gran Coupe

Presented at the 2010 Beijing Auto Show, the BMW Concept Gran Coupé is a four-door coupé that incorporates the classic design features of all BMW coupes: the long wheelbase, the vaulted hood with forward-pointing lines, the set-back greenhouse, the flat silhouette, the coupe-style roof line and the short front overhang reflect the dynamic potential of the vehicle.

The BMW Concept Gran Coupé up to 100 millimeters flatter than the BMW 5 Series or the BMW 7 Series Sedan. The roof line tapers off gently into the rear, thereby elongating the vehicle’s proportions. The clarity of the LED front lights highlights the vehicle’s precision and premium aspirations.

The powerfully flared wheel arches above the rear axle highlight the particularly sporty character of the BMW Concept Gran Coupé. The sculptural shaping style characteristic of the entire body design of the BMW Concept Gran Coupé permits a unique interaction between concave and convex surfaces.

Mikael Lugnegard - Seraphim

The Swedish designer Mikael Lugnegard renowned for his whimsical concept designs ranging from extreme vehicles to anything that catches this designer’s fancy, has designed a muscle bike for the rich boys. The “Seraphim” gold plated chopper is inspired by luxury timepieces, and it features hand-made Western saddles with engraved patterns for a vintage look.

Concept : Organic bike

Designer Smolyanov Michael V has come out with a bike design that is environmentally friendly. The materials are not only eco-friendly, but also very light in weight and stronger than usual. The bike’s frames, suspension and steering components are grown from organic substances and then fastened. The bike really comes out with strong, lightweight and very powerful spatial structure after processing and destruction of organic carbon skeleton with fluorine. And that’s where the name M-Org comes from.

The HMK 561

The HMK 561 is a carbon fiber bike with special electrical properties that hold power right inside the frame. Carbon fiber is highly conductive so the designer uses it as a power distribution network instead of wires.

The power drives the lights and the motors in between the rims but get this… there’s regenerative braking. All that energy drives a system that turns the wheels using a counter-turning axel in lieu of gears and chains.

Concept :Lumeneo Smera

The lumeneo smera is a two seat electric car that has all the perks of your standard sedan in an ultra-compact package. the car concept was recently shown at the 2010 geneva motor show and was also featured in designboom’s article on electric motorcycles and scooters. While many automakers were showing off electric versions of their standard lineup, the Lumeneo Smera rethinks the car from the ground up.
The car weighs just under 1,000 pounds and packs a 15-kilowatt electric engine under the
hood. When the smera turns corners it leans right into them, twisting on its chassis.

Sbarro Autobau

The “Sbarro Autobau” is a strange, if not utterly illogical, car concept that seems straight out from the Star Trek. A tribute to Swiss racing driver Fredy Lienhard, the Autobao generates power from a Ferrari V12 engine, located at the rear, which is capable of producing 500 HP. Weighting about 3,200 pounds, the futuristic car features a low body with clam shell windows behind the cockpit that opens to swallow the passengers.

Citroen Survolt Concept

Citroen has revealed a new concept car at the Geneva Motor Show, the Citroen Survolt Concept. Based rather clearly on the scary sexy Citroen Revolte, the Survolt is a pink-trimmed, black-and-bold concept supercar that we wish would hit production. It likely won’t, as this one was built solely to show the design prowess of Citroen this year at Geneva. It didn’t feature and hardware specs, promises of development or any other details– the Survolt’s beauty is sadly only skin deep. We admire the work, though, and hope elements from this design take shape in future Citroen sports cars.

Porsche - 918 Spyder Hybrid Concept Car

As evening arrived halfway across the globe in Geneva, Switzerland, Michael Macht, the President and CEO of Porsche AG presided over a special world debut - the Porsche 918 Spyder Hybrid Concept Car.

A mid-engined 2 seater, the 918 Spyder striked a perfect balance between 2 initiatives. On one side, the concept addressed numerous challenges, from climate changes to limited resources, the world will face in the next century. On the other, it is a representation of engineering ingenuity, passion for design, tempered with raw power & speed. Under its hood is a 500-hp V8 engine working in tandem with 3 electric motors totaling 160 kW of output. With a fuel consumption of 94 miles per gallon (mpg) and a CO2 emission of 70 grams per kilometer, the end product is an exotic car with CO2 footprint of a compact plug-in hybrid.

The Porsche 918 Spyder Hybrid Concept Car will be on display starting tomorrow at Geneva Motor Show’s Hall 6.
