Lexus is celebrating its participation in the 24 hours of Nürburgring with an exclusive 50 car run "Nürburgring Package" that adds race-friendly kit such as a new front splitter, dive planes, fixed rear wing, and a sportier suspension. The 4.8 liter V10 engine also gets a slight boost with the addition of 10 horsepower for a total of 562 hp.
A Lotus Elise with the engine of a Corvette ZR1 (725 hp/741 lb-ft supercharged 6.9 liter V8). Sounds like a recipe for tire-shredding mayhem, right? Well, you’d be correct if Hennessey didn’t also make it’s new 200 mph 2011 Venom GT available with a twin-turbocharged 1,000 hp/900 lb-ft torque OR an orbit-defying 1,200 hp/1,100 lb-ft torque “version”.
The new 2011 Hennessey Venom GT, of which only 10 will be made, will get you to 60 in less than 3 seconds (if you get the tires to connect), and not only provide you a road legal nuclear missile, but one that would make the Dark Knight and/or Mad Max jealous. The 2,400 lb Venom GT will be equipped with 15″ carbon ceramic rotors up, Michelin PS2 tires, fully-adjustable suspension, and a one-day track training program to teach what we imagine to be a course in not ending your life in a flaming ball of fury.
The new 599 GTO ($460,000) lies a tweaked 6.0 V-12 that now pushes 661 horsepower and will take the car from 0-62 in 3.3 seconds, all the way to a top speed of 208 miles per hour. Link / Source
